New Chandigarh, India – Web Desk: India produced a commanding all-round performance to defeat Afghanistan by an innings and 300 runs in the only Test match, sealing victory inside three days.
At the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, India asserted complete dominance with both bat and ball. Batting first, India declared their first innings at 564/8, powered by a century from Shubman Gill (126) and a solid 100 from KL Rahul. Strong contributions also came from Rishabh Pant and Sai Sudharsan, who scored 81 runs each.
Afghanistan were bowled out for 152 in their first innings, trailing by 412 runs, after a disciplined Indian bowling attack led by debutant Manav Suthar, who claimed six wickets. Prasidh Krishna and Washington Sundar also contributed with key breakthroughs.
Following the follow-on, Afghanistan collapsed again for 112 in their second innings. Kuldeep Yadav and Sundar led the bowling charge, ensuring a comprehensive Indian victory.
India’s dominant display underlined their strength in all departments, securing a massive innings and 300-run win in the one-off Test.
