PECA court removes Iran and other countries references from controversial tweets verdict

Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: The Cybercrime Court under the PECA Act has ordered the removal of paragraphs mentioning Iran and other countries from the controversial Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha tweets case verdict.

Judge Afzal Majoka approved the prosecution’s request to delete references that were mistakenly included in paragraph 36 of the 22-page verdict. The court clarified that the inclusion of the countries’ names was a typographical error by the stenographer and had no impact on the legal rights of the parties involved.

Under Section 561A, the court exercised its powers to correct the error and instructed that the corrected text be attached to the main case record.
