Dera Ismail Khan-Web Desk: A potentially devastating incident was averted in Bannu after a roadside improvised explosive device (IED) was successfully defused by security personnel.
According to officials, the explosive device, weighing approximately 12 to 15 kilograms, was planted along a roadside in the Kakki Tehsil area.
The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) of Bannu Police carried out the operation with precision and caution, safely neutralizing the device without causing any damage or casualties.
Authorities said the timely and professional response by the police and bomb disposal team prevented what could have been a major tragedy in the region.
Security in the area has since been heightened, and further investigations are underway to identify those responsible for planting the explosive.
