Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Web Desk: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has suspended Cricket Canada’s membership following repeated controversies and allegations of corruption and mismanagement, according to an official statement.
In a statement published on its website, the ICC cited “serious breaches of membership obligations” as the basis for the suspension decision.
The governing body had previously frozen funding for Cricket Canada last month and granted a six-month period to address governance and administrative shortcomings.
An ICC letter at the time highlighted concerns over the absence of a proper governance structure within the board and noted that required financial statements had not been submitted.
The suspension marks a significant escalation in the ICC’s oversight action against one of its associate members amid ongoing concerns over compliance and transparency.
