Half a Million Afghans Found Traveling Abroad on Pakistani Passports

Date:

ISLAMABAD- More than 500,000 Afghan nationals have been found traveling abroad using Pakistani passports, according to revelations in the Senate Standing Committee on Human Rights.

The Interior Secretary revealed that Afghan citizens have been presenting themselves as Pakistanis in countries such as Saudi Arabia and elsewhere. The Ministry of Interior stated that crimes committed by these individuals were often wrongly attributed to Pakistan.

The Secretary added that data on over 500,000 Afghan nationals was extracted through NADRA, and that the government has now digitally consolidated data for 180–200 million Pakistani citizens.

The revelation underscores ongoing concerns about passport misuse and the need for stricter identity verification measures to prevent international crimes being misattributed to Pakistan.
