Web Desk – Fujairah, UAE: Hackers have reportedly carried out a cyberattack targeting Port of Fujairah, one of the United Arab Emirates’ key maritime and energy hubs, with claims that hundreds of thousands of sensitive documents were extracted.
According to Iranian media reports, a hacker group identified as “Hanzala” was behind the cyber operation. The group allegedly accessed and exfiltrated more than 430,000 confidential documents related to shipping operations, financial systems, and infrastructure networks linked to the port.
The reports claim that the stolen data could potentially be used to facilitate targeted disruptions or attacks. However, independent verification of the breach and the scale of the data leak remains unclear.
The hacker group also issued a warning, alleging that cooperation between the UAE, the United States, and Israel is under surveillance and could lead to consequences.
The Fujairah port is strategically significant as a major global oil storage and bunkering hub outside the Strait of Hormuz, making any cybersecurity threat a concern for regional trade and global energy supply chains.
Authorities in the UAE have not yet issued an official statement confirming or denying the reported cyberattack.
