Gold Price in Pakistan Drops Rs1,800 to Rs453,936 Per Tola

KARACHI, PAKISTAN — WEB DESK: Gold prices in Pakistan extended their decline on Wednesday, September 23, with the price of 24-karat gold falling by Rs1,800 to Rs453,936 per tola, tracking weakness in the international bullion market.

The price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold declined by Rs1,544 to Rs389,176, according to rates reported by Mettis Global and attributed to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association. The price of 22-karat gold was quoted at Rs356,757 per 10 grams.

Wednesday’s decline follows another Rs1,800 drop a day earlier. Gold had closed at Rs455,736 per tola on September 22, meaning the latest decrease brought the price down to Rs453,936.

That means domestic gold has lost Rs3,600 per tola over the latest two sessions, based on the association-linked figures.

The weakness was also visible in the international bullion market. 24NewsHD reported that the international gold rate fell by $18 to $4,314 per ounce on Wednesday.

Mettis Global separately reported spot gold trading around $4,312 an ounce, down about $50.70, or 1.16%, from the previous session at the time of its update. It attributed pressure on bullion to expectations that major central banks could keep borrowing costs elevated for longer as they seek to contain persistent inflation.

The small difference between the international figures reflects different market snapshots during continuously changing global trading rather than necessarily conflicting reports.

Silver Price Also Falls

Silver prices also moved lower in Pakistan. The price of silver declined by Rs30 to Rs7,008 per tola, while 10 grams fell by Rs25 to Rs6,008.

Latest association-linked rates therefore stand at:

BullionSeptember 23 RateDaily Change
24K Gold — 1 TolaRs453,936−Rs1,800
24K Gold — 10 GramsRs389,176−Rs1,544
22K Gold — 10 GramsRs356,757
Silver — 1 TolaRs7,008−Rs30
Silver — 10 GramsRs6,008−Rs25

The latest move continues a volatile period for precious metals. Gold remains sensitive to global interest-rate expectations, movements in the US dollar, geopolitical developments and safe-haven demand.

For Pakistani buyers, international bullion prices are only part of the equation. Domestic gold rates can also be affected by the rupee-dollar exchange rate and local market pricing.

Because international bullion trades continuously, global spot prices may change after publication. The Rs453,936-per-tola domestic rate represents the September 23 association-linked market update available at the time of reporting.
