Karachi sees second consecutive surge as global demand pushes gold & silver to record highs.
Karachi, Pakistan – Web Desk: Gold prices in Pakistan continue their historic rally as local and international markets push values higher. For the second consecutive day, gold surged by PKR 21,200 per tola, taking the price to PKR 572,862 per tola, nearly PKR 600,000.
International bullion markets saw gold reach $5,504 per ounce, a record high, driven by rising global demand for safe-haven assets amid geopolitical tensions and dollar depreciation. Locally, ten grams of gold rose by PKR 18,175 to PKR 491,136.
Silver prices also climbed sharply, with the per tola price increasing by PKR 264 to PKR 12,175 and ten grams reaching PKR 10,438. Analysts attribute the surge to central banks increasing gold purchases, growing demand for hedging against inflation, and ongoing global uncertainty.
