Five Terrorists Killed in Panjgur IBO, Weapons and IEDs Recovered: ISPR

Date:

Security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Panjgur district on August 10, according to ISPR.

PANJGUR, BALOCHISTAN — WEB DESK: Security forces killed five terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Panjgur district, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday.

According to the military’s media wing, the operation was conducted on August 10 against militants belonging to Fitna Al Hindustan as part of the ongoing counterterrorism campaign.

ISPR said security forces recovered a significant quantity of weapons, ammunition and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) following the operation. The recovered material was subsequently destroyed.

Sanitisation operation launched

Following the intelligence-based operation, security forces launched a sanitisation operation in the area to locate and eliminate any remaining threats, according to ISPR.

The military’s media wing said the counterterrorism campaign being conducted under the framework of Azm-e-Istehkam, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, would continue with full momentum.

ISPR said security forces and law-enforcement agencies remain committed to eliminating foreign-sponsored and foreign-supported terrorism from the country.

Recent operations in Balochistan

The Panjgur operation comes two days after security forces reported killing 15 terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij during intelligence-based operations across several districts of Balochistan.

According to ISPR, those operations were conducted in Mastung, Bolan, Washuk, Awaran, Sibi, Khuzdar, Harnai and Nushki under Operation Rad-ul-Fitna-3.

Balochistan remains one of Pakistan’s key security hotspots. A recent report by the Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS) said Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa accounted for nearly 96% of violence-related fatalities recorded in Pakistan during the second quarter of 2026.

The latest Panjgur operation underscores the continued security challenges in Balochistan as Pakistani authorities maintain counterterrorism operations across the province.
