Pakistan’s Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir, is on an official visit to Türkiye aimed at strengthening the longstanding strategic partnership and defence cooperation between the two brotherly nations.
Ankara, Türkiye – Web Desk: According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Asim Munir held high-level meetings with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Defence Minister Yaşar Güler, and senior military leadership to discuss regional security, evolving geopolitical developments, and ways to expand bilateral strategic collaboration.
The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing defence cooperation, military coordination, and joint efforts for regional peace and stability. Upon his arrival in Türkiye, Field Marshal Asim Munir received a warm welcome, reflecting the close and historic ties between Islamabad and Ankara.
During the visit, the Pakistan military chief also met Chief of the Turkish General Staff General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu, where both leaders exchanged views on regional security and professional military cooperation.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions to strengthening Pakistan-Türkiye defence relations, General Bayraktaroğlu awarded Field Marshal Asim Munir the Turkish Armed Forces Distinguished Service Medal.
Field Marshal Asim Munir also visited the Turkish Land Forces Headquarters and paid tribute at the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in Ankara by laying a floral wreath.
ISPR stated that the visit reflects the shared commitment of Pakistan and Türkiye to further strengthen defence ties, expand military cooperation, and promote peace and stability across the region.
