Gujranwala, Pakistan – Web Desk: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has intensified its crackdown on human smuggling and visa fraud networks, arresting four suspects in separate operations across Punjab.
The accused—Ijaz Ahmed, Ahmed Naeem, Waqas Ahmed, and Muhammad Razaq—were apprehended in Gujranwala, Sialkot, and Bahawalpur. According to FIA officials, the suspects collected more than Rs10 million from multiple victims by promising to arrange legal travel and visas for Europe.
Instead of delivering on their assurances, the suspects allegedly absconded with the funds, leaving the victims without travel documents or any means of redress. The arrests follow complaints lodged by affected citizens who fell prey to the fraudulent schemes.
Investigations are ongoing to trace additional members of the smuggling and fraud networks, recover the embezzled amounts, and identify other potential victims. The FIA has urged the public to exercise extreme caution when dealing with unauthorized agents offering overseas employment or migration services, and to verify credentials through official channels.
Human smuggling and illegal visa facilitation remain significant concerns in Pakistan, often exploiting economic hardships and aspirations for better opportunities abroad amid domestic challenges.
