ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Chief Justice of the Federal Constitutional Court Aminuddin Khan said on Friday that the protection of fundamental rights is the top priority of the constitutional court, and that the Constitution will be interpreted with transparency, freedom, and integrity.
In his first message after the establishment of the constitutional court, Chief Justice Khan stated that the creation of this court was an important milestone in ensuring transparency and public access. He added that the formation of this court marked a significant step in the country’s constitutional journey.
The FCC CJ said that the court had been entrusted with a highly sensitive and crucial responsibility, reaffirming the nation’s collective commitment to the rule of law and to the enduring promise of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
He emphasised that the court’s role was not merely judicial, but a sacred trust that directly affected the lives, liberties, and aspirations of the citizens. At the beginning of this institutional journey, he expressed a firm resolve to establish a judicial forum that exemplifies integrity, impartiality, and intellectual insight.
Justice Khan said that every case brought before the court will be handled with extraordinary care and fairness, upholding the supremacy of the Constitution, the principles of justice, and judicial dignity. He expressed the desire to develop a judicial tradition rooted in well-reasoned decisions, institutional respect, and public trust — qualities that form the foundation of any constitutional court.
He further said that being the first chief justice of the Federal Constitutional Court was an honor, as it allows him to contribute to building the institution’s foundations. He expressed his heartfelt wish that the court becomes a guardian of constitutional supremacy in Pakistan and a strong symbol of justice for generations to come.
He concluded by praying that God grant them wisdom, humility, and steadfast commitment to the Constitution in carrying out their duties.
