Lahore, Pakistan – Web Desk: Pakistan opening batter Fakhar Zaman has been ruled out of the upcoming One Day International (ODI) series against Bangladesh national cricket team due to a hamstring injury, team officials confirmed on Wednesday.
Zaman sustained the injury after recently featuring in the ICC T20 World Cup, where he played an aggressive innings against Sri Lanka. He will now undergo rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore to regain full fitness.
Pakistan are scheduled to tour Bangladesh for a three-match ODI series, with the opening match set for March 11 in Dhaka. The team will arrive in the Bangladeshi capital on March 9 and hold a training session a day later.
All three matches — on March 11, 13 and 15 — will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
This will be Pakistan’s second tour of Bangladesh within a year. During their previous visit in July 2025, Bangladesh clinched the T20 series, while Pakistan had earlier secured a 3-0 T20 series victory in May/June 2025 under the captaincy of Salman Ali Agha.
The absence of Fakhar Zaman is expected to prompt adjustments in Pakistan’s top-order batting lineup ahead of the crucial ODI series.
