Dubai Imposes Strict New Laws for Bicycle and E-Scooter Riders

Date:

DUBAI – Web Desk: Dubai has established a new monitoring unit for bicycles and e-scooters and introduced strict regulations following a surge in their use in recent years.

Authorities have made helmets and high-visibility reflective jackets mandatory for cyclists. For e-scooters, riding with more than one person is prohibited. The minimum age for e-scooter use has been set at 16 years, and the speed limit has been fixed at 20 kilometers per hour.

The move aims to enhance road safety and reduce accidents involving micro-mobility vehicles in the emirate.
