ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – The government has completed the Labour Force Survey, which shows that 10 million people gained employment annually over the past four years.

According to the survey, due to population growth, the unemployment rate has increased further over the last four years, rising by 0.8%. The country’s unemployment rate has been recorded at 7.1%, compared to 6.3% in the 2020–21 Labour Force Survey.

The results indicate that in four years, more than 10 million people found employment annually, with employment rates rising among both men and women. In the 2018–19 Labour Force Survey, the unemployment rate stood at 6.9%.

The survey includes men and women aged ten and above. It records a decline in employment in the agricultural sector while showing an increase in the number of people working in the services sector.

The government is expected to officially release the Labour Force Survey later today.
