Dadu, Pakistan – Web Desk: The Model Criminal Trial Court in Dadu has acquitted all eight accused, including two members of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), in the high-profile triple murder case of Um Rabab Chandio’s grandfather, father, and uncle.
The court ruled that there was insufficient evidence to prove the guilt of Sardar Ahmed Khan Chandio, Burhan Khan Chandio, or any of the other accused. As a result, all defendants were released with full honor.
The case, linked to the triple murders in Mithi, remained under judicial review for over eight years and three months, encompassing a total of 392 hearings. The verdict was reserved a month ago by First Additional Sessions Judge / Model Criminal Trial Court Dadu, Judge Hussain Kalor.
Ahead of the verdict, stringent security measures were implemented. Officers from 30 police stations in the district, six deputy superintendents of police, and 589 personnel were deployed. Roads surrounding the court were sealed within a two-kilometer radius to ensure security.
Responding to the decision, the plaintiff, Um Rabab Chandio, stated that her resolve remains strong. Her lawyer, Salahuddin Panhwar, announced plans to file an appeal against the verdict in the Sindh High Court.
The acquittal has sparked reactions across political and local circles, highlighting ongoing challenges in high-profile criminal investigations in the region.
