Islamabad Court green-lights private doctors’ tests; Jail authorities asked for comments
Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: The Islamabad court has approved a request for medical examinations of PTI Chairman Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi. The petition requested that both undergo tests conducted by their private doctors, including an eye examination report from PIMS. Three private doctors were proposed for the medical check-up, with Dr. Asim Yousuf’s presence deemed mandatory for Imran Khan.
The defense lawyer emphasized that, under jail manual rules, the family must be informed prior to any medical procedure. The court has directed the Adiala Jail Superintendent to provide comments by Tuesday. Lawyers warned that without the presence of private doctors, no medical tests or procedures will be recognized, and they may file a contempt of court petition if Alima Khan’s bank accounts, CNIC, and passport are not restored.
