PESHAWAR (Web Desk) – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has assured that resource limitations will not hinder efforts to establish peace in the province.

He made these remarks during an important meeting chaired by him regarding the performance of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD).

The meeting, which included a detailed briefing on CTD’s operations, saw the approval of converting 186 CTD detectives into 638 permanent field operators.

These operators will be responsible for cyber patrolling, intelligence gathering, surveillance, and field operations.

During the meeting, CM Afridi also approved an ambitious plan to expand the CTD’s presence at the district level, with a total cost of Rs4.3 billion.

Additionally, the establishment of new CTD regional headquarters in Peshawar was approved, along with the revival of a stalled development project to build CTD offices in 21 districts across the province.

A significant budget of Rs7.77 billion was also approved for the procurement of CTD vehicles, weapons, and modern equipment.

The chief minister emphasized that all CTD construction projects must adhere to strict safety protocols, and reforms, infrastructure improvements, and new hiring processes should be implemented within specified timelines.
