SACRAMENTO, United States – Web Desk: California Governor Gavin Newsom has called for an immediate end to what he described as a “meaningless” war with Iran, intensifying political pressure on President Donald Trump over the ongoing conflict.
In a statement, Newsom said the war has failed to deliver results and should be brought to an end without delay. He also linked rising inflation and fuel prices in the United States to federal policy decisions, arguing that Americans are facing increased costs of living.
He claimed that surging prices of essential goods and gasoline were a direct consequence of the Trump administration’s actions.
Separately, Democratic Senator Tammy Baldwin, who has introduced legislation to limit presidential war powers, said that war brings only inflation and personal loss without meaningful gains.
The comments come amid growing domestic political debate in the United States over the economic impact and strategic objectives of the conflict with Iran.
