Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: The political standoff over the federal budget session eased on Tuesday after Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi successfully persuaded Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to attend the proceedings, according to parliamentary sources.
Following the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi accompanied Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to the National Assembly, ending uncertainty over PPP’s participation in the budget session.
Earlier, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also met Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, with Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar present during the discussions, as efforts intensified to resolve the issue.
PPP’s media cell had previously stated that the party had not decided on a complete boycott of the budget session. It clarified that some PPP lawmakers would attend the proceedings, although Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was initially expected to stay away.
Party leader Nadeem Afzal Chan also dismissed reports of a formal boycott, calling them incorrect and misleading.
