Balochistan introduces changed curriculum for new academic year

Date:

QUETTA (Web Desk) – The Balochistan Education Department has decided to introduce major changes to the curriculum for the new academic year.

Under the revised plan, Nazra Quran and Quran translation will be formally included as compulsory subjects for students from Grade 1 to Grade 12, ensuring Quranic education is taught consistently across all levels.

The department has also announced that new computer education textbooks will be introduced for Grades 6 to 8, aimed at improving students’ digital literacy and preparing them for modern technological requirements.

In addition, the government has developed separate textbooks for Grades 6 to 12 focused on promoting the positive and responsible use of social media. These books aim to create awareness among students about online safety, digital responsibility, and ethical behaviour in the digital world.

The updated curriculum is expected to be implemented at the start of the upcoming academic year across schools in the province.
