Wicketkeeper-batter Alyssa Healy to play farewell ODIs and Tests against India
Australian cricket legend Alyssa Healy has announced her retirement from international cricket after an illustrious 15-year career. The 35-year-old wicketkeeper-batter will step away from all formats following her final ODI and Test matches against India at home.
Healy, who debuted in 2010, played 295 international matches, scoring over 7,000 runs and achieving 275 dismissals behind the stumps. She captained Australia in 2023, was part of eight ICC World Cup-winning squads, and is celebrated as one of the finest batters and wicketkeepers in women’s cricket history.
Cricket Australia chief executive Todd Greenberg praised Healy’s outstanding career and announced that her contributions will be honored during the series. Healy said she retires with mixed emotions, acknowledging her love for the game but feeling it’s the right time to step away.
She is married to Australian fast-bowling star Mitchell Starc.
