ISLAMABAD, Pakistan — Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has issued a stern warning to any nation considering aggression against Pakistan, stating that any such attempt will be met with a decisive response, similar to the one delivered during the May conflict.
Speaking at a luncheon hosted by King Abdullah II of Jordan at the President’s House in Islamabad, Munir emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to peace but underscored its readiness to defend its sovereignty. “Pakistan is a peace-loving country,” he said, “but if war is imposed, we will respond firmly, as we did in May, in accordance with divine guidance and national duty.”
The Field Marshal attributed Pakistan’s success in the May conflict to divine support, likening the nation’s resilience to historical Islamic victories. He referenced the Battle of Uhud, stating that faith can transform even the smallest actions into powerful outcomes. “When Muslims trust in Allah, even dust thrown at the enemy becomes a missile,” he remarked.
The event was attended by key figures including President Asif Ali Zardari, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Aseefa Bhutto, the British High Commissioner, and the U.S. Ambassador, highlighting the diplomatic significance of the gathering.
Earlier, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met with King Abdullah II to reaffirm Pakistan and Jordan’s commitment to strengthening strategic and economic ties. The leaders discussed expanding cooperation in trade, investment, health, education, and defense, while also exchanging views on regional peace and security.
Both sides agreed to enhance coordination among the eight Arab Islamic nations working with the United States on the Gaza ceasefire and the peace plan signed in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt.
This series of high-level engagements signals Pakistan’s proactive role in regional diplomacy and its firm stance on national defense.
