QUEETA: In a successful counter-terrorism operation, the security forces killed 18 Indian-sponsored terrorists in the Ghaza Band area on the outskirts of Quetta.
According to sources, two security personnel were injured during the exchange of fire. A large cache of weapons and ammunition was also recovered from the slain militants. The terrorists were reportedly involved in multiple acts of terrorism across the region.
Officials confirmed that the joint intelligence-based operation was carried out following verified reports of the terrorists’ presence. Intense gunfire was exchanged during the raid. Security forces and law enforcement agencies reiterated their firm resolve to eliminate terrorism from the country.
Meanwhile, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has registered a case against unidentified terrorists in connection with the suicide attack that struck Quetta a day earlier.
The case has been filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act, as well as sections related to murder, attempted murder, and other charges.
Security forces promptly neutralised six terrorists during that attack. The tragic incident left 11 people martyred and 28 others injured.
