Pakistani TikToker and social media influencer Alishba Anjum, sister of Jannat Mirza, has announced plans for a “simple wedding” with a budget of Rs 20–30 million, triggering widespread debate online.
Speaking in a recent interaction, Alishba said her wedding celebrations would be limited to Nikkah and Walima only, avoiding lavish events and unnecessary extravagance. She emphasized choosing simplicity over showmanship, a contrast to the luxury weddings common among internet celebrities.
However, her remarks quickly went viral after she shared details of her outfit costs, including a Rs 20,000 imported jean, Rs10,000 shirt, and Rs25,000 shoes. Social media users reacted sharply, questioning whether a Rs 30 million wedding could genuinely be labeled as “simple.”
While some praised her intention to avoid excess, many critics argued that such a budget reflects privilege rather than simplicity. Alishba Anjum currently boasts over 3 million Instagram followers and 19 million TikTok followers, making her wedding plans a trending topic across platforms.
