MUMBAI – Web Desk: Indian television and film actress Eva Grover has made shocking revelations about her failed marriage to Haider Ali Khan, the half-brother of Bollywood star Aamir Khan, alleging domestic violence and emotional abuse.
In a recent interview, Grover disclosed that she decided to marry Haider after knowing him for only 18 days, acknowledging that she may have been hasty in her decision. Despite family opposition and differing religious backgrounds, she left her home to marry him while her career was at its peak.
Grover said that soon after marriage, she realized her husband was not the person she had imagined, describing his extreme anger as a major issue that began affecting their married life. When asked directly whether she was physically abused, Grover confirmed that her husband had a violent temperament and she was subjected to physical violence on several occasions, though she refrained from detailing specific incidents.
She said she remained in the relationship for years because she loved her husband and was repeatedly made to feel that she was responsible for everything wrong. After four years of marriage, she decided to become a mother hoping a child might improve their relationship, but no positive change occurred. She realized she could no longer remain in that environment just one month after her daughter’s birth.
Grover praised her former father-in-law, the late Tahir Hussain, describing him as a kind and compassionate person who would often become emotional seeing her condition. She also thanked her former mother-in-law and colleagues who helped her escape the abusive relationship.
