PTI MPA Javed Kausar Arrested in Rawalpindi
RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former Punjab Assembly member Chaudhry Javed Kausar has been arrested in Rawalpindi, according to a report published by Express News on Thursday.
The arrest marks another development involving the PTI leadership in Rawalpindi, where party members have faced legal proceedings and police action in connection with previous protest-related cases.
Javed Kausar represented PP-8 (Rawalpindi-II) in the Punjab Assembly and has been associated with PTI’s political activities in the district.
His name has previously appeared in cases registered in connection with political protests and demonstrations in Rawalpindi and Attock.
In April 2025, an Anti-Terrorism Court in Rawalpindi cancelled the interim bail of Javed Kausar and several other PTI figures in cases related to the November 26 protests. The court proceedings involved multiple party leaders and workers who had been facing legal action.
The latest arrest comes amid continuing legal and political developments involving PTI members in Punjab.
However, details regarding the circumstances of Kausar’s latest arrest, the police station concerned, the specific case involved and his possible court appearance were not available in the information reviewed.
