FAISALABAD, PAKISTAN — WEB DESK: The National Women’s T20 Tournament 2026-27 will begin on Saturday, October 10, in Faisalabad, with five teams competing in a 21-match tournament organised by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
The opening day will feature two matches, with Invincibles taking on Challengers at Bohranwali Ground and Conquerors facing defending champions Stars at Jawad Club Ground. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 10am, with the toss at 9:30am, according to the PCB.
The tournament will provide opportunities for emerging and established players to compete in domestic cricket, while the participating teams aim to secure places in the final.
Five teams compete for the title
The tournament features Challengers, Conquerors, Invincibles, Stars and Strikers. Each team has a 15-member squad, bringing the total number of participating players to 75.
Defending champions Stars will be led by leg-spinner Tuba Hassan. Invincibles, last edition’s runners-up, will be captained by opening batter Gull Feroza.
Middle-order batter Ayesha Zafar will lead Challengers, while wicketkeeper-batter Muneeba Ali will captain Conquerors. Pakistan women’s national team captain Fatima Sana will lead Strikers.
Six players currently involved in the Women’s Under-19 T20 Tri-Series in Faisalabad are expected to join their respective tournament squads after the conclusion of the junior competition.
Opening fixtures and tournament schedule
The first match will see Invincibles face Challengers at Bohranwali Ground on October 10. In the second fixture, Conquerors will meet Stars at Jawad Club Ground.
Strikers will begin their campaign against Challengers on Sunday, October 11, at Jawad Club Ground.
The competition will follow a double-league format, with each team scheduled to play at least eight matches. The top two teams will qualify for the final.
The title-deciding match will take place at Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad on Sunday, October 25. The PCB has also announced that the final will be livestreamed in Pakistan on Tapmad and Tamasha.
More than Rs3 million in prize money
The tournament offers total prize money exceeding Rs3 million, according to the PCB.
The winning team will receive Rs1.5 million, while the runners-up will be awarded Rs1 million.
The competition brings together players from different stages of their cricketing careers and gives them an opportunity to demonstrate their abilities in a structured domestic T20 format.
What to watch
The performances of captains Tuba Hassan and Fatima Sana, along with opening batter Gull Feroza and wicketkeeper-batter Muneeba Ali, will be among the storylines to follow during the tournament.
Stars will enter the competition as defending champions, while Invincibles will seek to improve on their runners-up finish in the previous edition.
With the group stage spread across multiple fixtures and the top two teams advancing to the final, consistency throughout the tournament will be important for all five sides.
The National Women’s T20 Tournament will conclude on October 25, when the finalists meet at Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad.
