India beat Pakistan by 7 wickets in ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup

Date:

Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat in Dubai but were bowled out for 55 before India completed a seven-wicket chase.

Web Desk: Pakistan Women suffered a heavy seven-wicket defeat against India in their Women’s Asia Cup 2026 Group A clash in Dubai after being bowled out for just 55 runs.

Pakistan captain Fatima Sana won the toss and elected to bat first at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The decision did not produce the desired result as Pakistan’s batting order struggled against India’s bowling attack.

India chased down the modest target in just 8.4 overs, reaching 57 for three to secure a seven-wicket victory with 68 balls remaining.

Pakistan collapse after winning toss

Pakistan made a difficult start after choosing to bat.

Shawaal Zulfiqar top-scored for Pakistan with 14 runs, while Muneeba Ali contributed 13. The rest of the batting lineup failed to build a substantial partnership as India kept taking wickets.

Pakistan were eventually dismissed for 55 in 18.1 overs.

India bowlers dominate

India’s bowling attack maintained pressure throughout the innings.

Shree Charani and Prema Rawat were among the leading wicket-takers, with Charani finishing with three wickets for seven runs and Rawat also taking three wickets.

Pakistan struggled to find boundaries or establish a stable partnership, leaving India with a straightforward chase.

India complete comfortable chase

India’s chase also suffered an early setback, but their middle order recovered quickly.

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur remained unbeaten on 18, while Deepti Sharma was also at the crease as India reached 57 for three in 8.4 overs.

The victory gave India another win over Pakistan in women’s international cricket and strengthened their position in Group A.

Another setback for Pakistan

The defeat adds to a difficult recent run for Pakistan against India.

India had also defeated Pakistan by 64 runs in their Women’s T20 World Cup meeting in June 2026. India also won their previous Women’s Asia Cup encounter in 2024 by seven wickets.

Pakistan’s most recent T20I victory over India came in the 2022 Women’s Asia Cup, when Pakistan won by 13 runs.

Asia Cup campaign continues

The 2026 Women’s Asia Cup is being played in T20I format in the UAE, with eight teams divided into two groups.

Pakistan and India are both in Group A alongside Thailand and Hong Kong. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals.

Pakistan are scheduled to face Hong Kong in their next Group A match on September 7, while the semi-finals are scheduled for September 10 and 11, followed by the final on September 13.
