Kuwait Says Iranian Strike Hits Chinese Company Building, One Killed

Date:

Kuwaiti authorities say emergency teams responded after a building operated by a Chinese company was struck in the country’s north amid heightened regional tensions.

KUWAIT CITY, Kuwait — WEB DESK: Kuwait’s Ministry of Defence said an Iranian strike hit a building operated by a Chinese company in the country’s northern region, killing one worker and causing significant damage to the facility.

In an official statement, the ministry said emergency services, security agencies and other relevant authorities were immediately deployed to the scene to secure the area and begin rescue and assessment operations.

Investigation Underway

Kuwaiti authorities said the identity and nationality of the deceased worker have not yet been released.

Officials also said investigations are continuing to determine whether there were additional casualties or further damage resulting from the incident.

Security Measures Strengthened

The Ministry of Defence said Kuwait’s armed forces remain on high alert and are prepared to take all necessary measures to safeguard the country’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and national security.

Authorities also urged the public to rely only on official sources for information and to avoid spreading unverified reports or rumours.

Regional Tensions

The reported strike comes amid heightened tensions in the Gulf region following the escalation between Iran and the United States.

Recent military exchanges and attacks targeting strategic facilities and commercial shipping have raised concerns over regional security and the risk of the conflict expanding beyond its current theatres.
