White House Teleprompter Operator Leaves Federal Job Amid Betting Allegations

Date:

A White House official confirmed the employee is no longer with the federal government after allegations he used access to President Donald Trump’s speeches to profit from prediction markets.

WASHINGTON, United States — WEB DESK: A White House teleprompter operator has left his federal government position following allegations that he used advance access to President Donald Trump’s speeches to place bets on prediction markets.

A White House official, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed that Gabriel Perez is no longer employed by the federal government. However, the official did not specify whether Perez resigned or was dismissed.

Employee Placed on Administrative Leave

The White House also confirmed that Perez was placed on unpaid administrative leave earlier this month after the allegations surfaced.

According to ABC News, Perez allegedly earned more than $100,000 through betting activities linked to information he reportedly accessed before President Trump’s public speeches.

The report alleges that his role as a teleprompter operator gave him advance knowledge of the content or timing of presidential remarks, raising concerns about the possible misuse of non-public information.

White House Response

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt described the reports as “deeply unfortunate and shameful.”

At the time of publication, authorities had not announced any criminal charges related to the allegations, and it remains unclear whether any formal investigation is ongoing.
