Donald Trump said Iranian ballistic missiles targeting US forces in Jordan were intercepted, warning Tehran of a forceful military response.
WASHINGTON, United States – Web Desk: US President Donald Trump has warned Iran that it will face an “extremely strong” response after alleging that Tehran launched ballistic missiles targeting American forces stationed in Jordan.
Speaking in an interview with US media, Trump said the US military informed him that multiple Iranian ballistic missiles had been fired toward American positions in Jordan. According to the president, all incoming missiles were successfully intercepted before reaching their targets, preventing casualties or damage.
Trump described the alleged attack as a serious escalation and vowed decisive retaliation.
“We are going to hit them very hard. They are going to be hit like never before,” Trump said, warning Iran against further attacks on US personnel.
The US president added that American forces had only minutes to respond before successfully intercepting the incoming projectiles.
Trump also revealed that US and Saudi forces carried out overnight airstrikes against an Iran-backed armed group in Iraq. He said the operation was conducted in coordination with the Iraqi government.
Describing the Iran-backed militia as “a cancer for the world,” Trump said his administration is considering additional military measures against Iranian proxy groups operating across the Middle East.
The remarks come amid heightened regional tensions following recent exchanges involving Iran, US forces, and Tehran-backed armed groups. Iranian officials had not immediately commented on Trump’s latest allegations at the time of publication.
