Iran says US airstrikes in Hormozgan and Khuzestan killed three

Date:

At least three people were killed and four others injured after US airstrikes targeted areas in Iran’s Hormozgan and Khuzestan provinces early Tuesday, according to Iranian officials and local media.

Tehran, Iran – Web Desk: Iranian authorities said the strikes hit multiple locations in Hormozgan Province, including an environmental facility and a warehouse used for storing animal feed.

According to Fars News Agency, several areas were targeted during the attacks. The Director General of Hormozgan’s Department of Environment, Masihi Taziani, said one of the agency’s environmental workers survived the strike while working outside his home. However, he confirmed that the worker’s two sons and daughter-in-law were killed in the attack.

Meanwhile, Iran’s state news agency quoted Khuzestan Deputy Governor for Security Affairs Valiollah Hayati as saying that parts of Omidiyeh came under attack at approximately 2:10 a.m. local time.

Iranian officials have not released additional details regarding the full extent of the damage or the specific targets. Independent verification of the reported casualties and the circumstances surrounding the strikes was not immediately available.

The latest developments come amid heightened military tensions in the region, with concerns growing over the potential for further escalation.
