Chief of Defence Staff (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to eliminate cross-border terrorism, declaring that the state will respond with its “full might” against terrorist groups and their facilitators.
Rawalpindi, Pakistan – Web Desk: According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief made the remarks while addressing graduating officers of the National Security and War Course at the National Defence University (NDU). The course included participants from all three branches of Pakistan’s armed forces.
During his address, Field Marshal Asim Munir highlighted the evolving nature of modern warfare and stressed the importance of strategic clarity, institutional professionalism and national preparedness in addressing emerging security challenges.
He praised the role of the National Defence University in preparing future military and civilian leaders to counter hybrid, conventional and sub-conventional threats with confidence and foresight.
The army chief said Pakistan’s armed forces are continuously adapting their operational strategies to meet the changing character of warfare and remain fully aware of what he described as state-sponsored attempts by hostile intelligence agencies to destabilise the country.
He stated that proxy groups operating under the patronage of hostile intelligence agencies would not be allowed to undermine Pakistan’s internal security or economic stability.
“The armed forces, with the support of the nation, will ensure that terrorist sanctuaries of these proxies, along with their facilitators, are completely dismantled,” he said.
Field Marshal Asim Munir also emphasized that wars are not won through media rhetoric or political slogans, but through faith, unity and discipline.
Concluding his address, he expressed full confidence in the professionalism, morale and operational readiness of Pakistan’s armed forces and urged graduating officers to uphold the values of integrity, selfless service and unwavering commitment to the nation.
