TEHRAN, Iran – Web Desk: Iran’s acting Defense Minister has made it unequivocally clear that the country’s defense capabilities, missile program, and drone technology are fundamental matters of national security and will not be subject to negotiations with any nation, including the United States.
According to international media reports, Acting Defense Minister Majid Ibn al-Raza stated that the Islamic Republic’s defensive, missile, and drone capabilities represent national security red lines and cannot be discussed or compromised at any stage. He emphasized that Iran will not only maintain its current defense systems but will also continue advancing its missile and drone programs to make them more modern and robust.
“Iran’s defense strength is the guarantee of the country’s sovereignty and security, therefore this issue cannot be made part of any international negotiations,” Ibn al-Raza declared.
The statement comes at a time when Iran and the United States are engaged in ongoing discussions over various technical and diplomatic matters. However, Iranian officials have consistently stressed that the scope of negotiations will remain limited to agreed-upon topics, with no compromise on defense capabilities.
Political analysts note that Iran’s stance demonstrates that while diplomatic channels between the two nations remain open, defense and military affairs continue to be non-negotiable for Tehran. Experts say Iran’s missile and drone program has been a focal point of concern for Western countries and several regional states in recent years, while Tehran insists these are essential components of its defense strategy. Analysts view Iran’s latest statement as a significant signal for future US-Iran talks, indicating that Tehran is unwilling to alter its position on matters of national security.
