Paris, France – Web Desk: France’s star forward Kylian Mbappé delivered another historic performance at the FIFA World Cup, breaking multiple records as Les Bleus secured a commanding 3-0 victory over Sweden in the Round of 32.

Mbappé scored twice in the knockout clash, taking his overall FIFA World Cup tally to 18 goals. The remarkable achievement moves the 27-year-old past Germany’s Miroslav Klose, making him the highest-scoring European player in FIFA World Cup history.

With 18 World Cup goals, Mbappé now trails only Lionel Messi, who leads the all-time list with 19 goals, placing the French superstar within touching distance of another historic milestone.

The French captain has also reached 22 combined goal contributions (goals and assists) in FIFA World Cup matches, surpassing Brazilian football legend Pelé in the tournament’s all-time rankings. Messi continues to lead that category with 27 goal involvements.

Mbappé also became the highest goalscorer in FIFA World Cup knockout-stage history, scoring his 10th knockout goal to surpass Brazil icon Ronaldo Nazário’s previous record.

His outstanding form continues in the ongoing tournament, where he has already registered six goals and two assists, strengthening his position at the top of the Golden Boot race.

Meanwhile, Mbappé’s attacking partnership with Ousmane Dembélé has emerged as one of the most effective combinations of the tournament, playing a crucial role in France’s impressive World Cup campaign.

With France advancing confidently into the next round, all eyes are now on Mbappé as he closes in on even more historic World Cup milestones.
