Rawalpindi, Pakistan – Web Desk: Pakistan’s security forces have killed eight terrorists belonging to the Indian-sponsored group ‘Fitnatul Hindustan’ in two separate intelligence-based operations in Balochistan, the military’s media wing said on Saturday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), operations were conducted in Kharan and Mastung districts on June 25 and 26 based on intelligence reports regarding terrorist movements.
Operations Details
In Kharan district on June 25, security forces acting on intelligence about a terrorist group’s movement killed three terrorists belonging to the Indian proxy group. During the operation, forces effectively engaged the terrorists’ hideout, recovering weapons, ammunition, and motorcycles.
On June 26, based on intelligence regarding a potential suicide bomber in Mastung district, security forces conducted a targeted operation. After an intense exchange of fire, five terrorists were killed, including the suicide bomber.
Indian-Sponsored Terrorism
Security officials confirmed that the terrorists were linked to Fitnatul Hindustan, a group operating under Indian sponsorship to destabilize Balochistan. The arrest of Indian naval officer Kulbhushan Jadhav in 2016 provided “irrefutable evidence” of India’s covert operations in the province.
Continuing Operations
The ISPR stated that sanitization operations are ongoing in the areas to eliminate any remaining terrorists. The operations are being conducted under the vision “Azm-e-Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, as security forces continue their counter-terrorism campaign to eliminate foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
