A ceremony was held in Manila to honour Pakistan’s national team ahead of their participation in the Asia Pacific Padel Cup, highlighting growing support for the sport and the country’s international representation.
The event was attended by Punjab Sports Minister Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar and Adviser to the Chief Minister Punjab Ali Dar, who joined officials and players to show their support for the national squad.
Speaking at the occasion, Sports Minister Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar said that national athletes are ambassadors of Pakistan and carry the hopes of the entire nation. He expressed confidence that the team would deliver a strong performance in the Asia Pacific Padel Cup and bring pride to the country.
He added that after Muharram, Sports Punjab in collaboration with AI initiatives will organise a padel tournament, while a new padel court will soon be inaugurated in Sialkot. According to him, 14 modern padel courts are also being developed across different cities in Punjab to promote sports and provide better facilities for young athletes.
Adviser to the Chief Minister Punjab Ali Dar said that the provincial government is working under the AI Vision 2029 framework to promote modern technology in various sectors, including sports. He noted that integrating artificial intelligence with sports development will help enhance youth talent and improve performance through advanced training and data-driven systems.
The ceremony reflects Pakistan’s growing investment in emerging sports and its efforts to strengthen international participation and youth engagement through modern sporting infrastructure.
