Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has invited the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) to form the government in Gilgit-Baltistan after the party emerged as the largest political force in the regional assembly.
In a statement, the prime minister said PPP had secured the strongest position in the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly and therefore deserved the opportunity to form the government. He announced that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) would support PPP’s efforts to establish the next administration.
Shehbaz Sharif said PML-N had decided to sit in the opposition benches in the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly and that its elected members would vote in favor of PPP during the government formation process.
The prime minister described the move as a reflection of democratic traditions and political maturity, adding that PML-N has always maintained respectful and cooperative relations with its allied parties.
The development is expected to strengthen cooperation between the coalition partners while shaping the future political landscape of Gilgit-Baltistan.
