Pentagon Partial Lockdown After Sudden Warning Alarm Sparks Panic Among Employees

Date:

ARLINGTON – Web Desk: A partial lockdown was briefly implemented at the Pentagon on Wednesday following an air quality warning alarm, causing panic among employees, though subsequent investigations confirmed the alert was false and normal activities were restored, according to international media reports.

The alarm was triggered over concerns of potential air contamination or presence of hazardous substances, prompting immediate safety measures. Employees in certain sections were instructed to shelter in place, while others were evacuated as a precaution. The partial lockdown was limited to several corridors of the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia.

Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell stated that after initial notification, various sections of the building were inspected as safety measures. Subsequent tests confirmed no threat existed, and the false alarm was likely caused by a sensor malfunction. No injuries or damage were reported, and normal operations have resumed.
