Pakistan-Made ‘Tria Onda’ FIFA World Cup Ball Features Chargable Sensors, Steals Spotlight

Date:

SIALKOT – Web Desk: The official match ball for FIFA World Cup 2026, manufactured in Pakistan, has become a center of attention due to its advanced tracking technology — requiring the ball to be charged before each match.

The new ball features a specialized sensor installed directly within one panel, which will record every movement, position, and player contact in real-time. The system will connect to 12 high-tech cameras installed in each stadium, collecting data on the ball and players 50 times per second. The information will help VAR officials make more accurate offside and goal-line decisions, reducing the likelihood of controversial calls.

Despite the advanced technology, the ball’s weight has been kept nearly identical to previous models, and players will not feel the sensor’s presence during play. Designed by German company Adidas and manufactured by Sialkot-based Future Sport, the ball is named “Tria Onda” — combining the word “Tria” (three) with the Spanish word “Onda” (wave).

The ball features prominent red, blue, and green colors, with symbolic representations of each host nation: maple leaves for Canada, an eagle for Mexico, and stars for the United States, with the overall pattern symbolizing unity. The Pakistani company has previously manufactured match balls for the 2014, 2018, and 2022 FIFA World Cups.
