White House Still Hopes for Iran Deal Despite US Strikes: Politico

WASHINGTON – Web Desk: The White House still considers a potential deal with Iran to be close, despite recent US retaliatory strikes, according to a report by the American magazine Politico.

A senior White House official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Politico that efforts toward a possible agreement with Tehran have not been affected by the strikes, and a peace deal is still considered near. The official stated that the nature of the deal remains what it was before, and the possibility of a compromise with Iran still exists.

The official added that the deal is still quite close. The statement comes amid rising tensions in the Middle East, with the situation having entered a sensitive phase following recent US strikes on Iran. According to the report, despite ongoing military actions, US officials still see a diplomatic solution as an important option and hope that the path to negotiations can be paved in the coming days.
