ISLAMABAD – Web Desk: The National Economic Council (NEC) meeting scheduled to be chaired by the Prime Minister today has been postponed, according to sources.
The NEC includes all four provincial chief ministers as members. The meeting was expected to present the national development budget for the upcoming fiscal year for approval. Sources indicate that the meeting will not be held today due to unresolved matters between the government and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). The NEC meeting is not included in the Prime Minister House’s schedule, and is now likely to take place tomorrow, Tuesday.
The annual budget for fiscal year 2026-27 is expected to be presented on June 10.
