Hanoi, Vietnam – Web Desk: Pakistan’s wrestlers delivered an impressive performance at the Asian Beach Wrestling Championship 2026, held in Vietnam, securing one gold and one silver medal in the Under-17 category.
Muhammad Usman Laghari clinched the gold medal in the 90kg category, remaining unbeaten throughout the tournament to be crowned Asian champion. He defeated opponents from Vietnam, Mongolia, and China in the early rounds before overcoming a Kazakh wrestler in the semifinal.
In the final, Laghari once again defeated a Vietnamese opponent to secure the top podium finish.
In the 70kg category, Hassan Ali Bhola won the silver medal after a strong campaign. He recorded victories against wrestlers from Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Vietnam during the competition.
Bhola advanced to the final after defeating a strong Chinese opponent in the semifinal but finished runner-up following a close contest in the title match.
Team officials and coach Ghulam Farid praised the athletes, crediting their success to hard work, disciplined training, and strong national spirit, saying the wrestlers had brought pride to Pakistan on the Asian stage.
