Mogadishu, Somalia – Web Desk: A fresh video has surfaced showing 10 Pakistani crew members held hostage by Somali pirates, urgently appealing to the government for their rescue and describing worsening conditions during their captivity.
The sailors, including Yasir Khan, are crew members of the private vessel MV Onar 25, which was reportedly seized by pirates. According to the video, the crew has been held for 42 days under harsh conditions.
In the footage, Yasir Khan and other crew members directly appeal to Pakistani authorities, including the prime minister and senior officials, to take immediate action for their release. Holding a bottle of dirty water, Khan says the captives are surviving in extremely poor conditions, with limited food and unsafe drinking water.
He further states that the group is being given boiled rice once a day and alleges that the shipping company has not engaged in meaningful negotiations with the captors.
The crew members warn in the video that their survival is at risk if urgent action is not taken, urging authorities to prioritize their safe return home.
Authorities in Pakistan have not yet issued a detailed public update on the situation.
