WASHINGTON – Web Desk: US President Donald Trump has rejected CNN’s reporting on the proposed agreement with Iran, stating that the deal includes “very strong and detailed” clauses regarding Iran’s nuclear program, according to a post on his Truth Social platform.
Trump accused CNN of spreading “fake news as usual” and erroneously reporting that the Iran deal does not mention nuclear matters. “The truth is that the agreement clearly states that Iran will not obtain nuclear weapons. Nuclear matters are the central part of this agreement,” Trump wrote. He added that the deal addresses various aspects of nuclear issues with great strength and detail, with most of the agreement comprising this subject.
Trump also criticized CNN, questioning whether the network will be able to restore its credibility under new ownership. Previously, Trump had announced the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz on Friday but now stated that the strait will be opened as soon as the deal is signed.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told Iranian state media that talks and message exchanges with the US are ongoing, adding that no decision or opinion can be given regarding negotiations until a clear result emerges, and speculation should not be given importance.
