Sidon, Lebanon – Web Desk: Nine members of a Syrian family, including six children, were killed in an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon, according to Lebanese authorities.
Local media reports said Israeli warplanes targeted a residential building in the town of Adloun, near the southern city of Sidon, late in the strike.
Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) reported that the strike hit a civilian home housing Syrian refugees.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health confirmed that all nine bodies recovered from the rubble belonged to a single family. Officials identified the victims as Syrian nationals who had fled ongoing conflict in their home country and taken refuge in Lebanon.
The incident comes despite a ceasefire agreement that came into effect on April 17, although reports indicate that Israeli strikes on Lebanese territory have continued.
