BBC Report Highlights Taliban Restrictions on Afghan Women

Date:

Kabul, Afghanistan – Web Desk: A new BBC documentary report has highlighted what it describes as sweeping restrictions on women’s rights under Taliban rule in Afghanistan, alleging that strict policies have confined many women to their homes.

According to the BBC special report, women in Afghanistan have been deprived of fundamental freedoms following the Taliban’s return to power. The report states that increasing restrictions have significantly reduced women’s participation in public life.

Since the Taliban takeover, Afghan women have reportedly faced bans and limitations affecting education, employment, and mobility, with critics saying that protests against these measures have been suppressed.

The BBC report further claims that earlier promises by the Taliban to allow women greater participation in society have not been fulfilled, and that discriminatory policies are being systematically enforced.

Human rights experts argue that these restrictions have not only impacted women but have also contributed to economic challenges and damaged Afghanistan’s international standing.
