Asian Markets Waver as Trump Delays Iran Attack Plan

Date:

Tokyo, Japan – Web Desk: Asian stock markets traded cautiously on Tuesday while bond markets stabilized following a sharp selloff, after Donald Trump announced a pause in a planned U.S. attack on Iran and expressed optimism about a potential nuclear agreement with Tehran.

Trump said on Monday that military action against Iran had been delayed to allow diplomatic negotiations aimed at ending the conflict. According to the U.S. president, Tehran had submitted a new peace proposal to Washington as efforts to reduce regional tensions intensified.

The U.S. president later stated there was a “very good chance” of reaching an agreement that would prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, comments that pushed global oil prices lower and influenced financial markets across Asia.

Despite the easing in oil prices, investor sentiment remained fragile after markets were shaken in the previous trading session by reports of a weekend drone strike in the United Arab Emirates.

Analysts said investors continue to monitor geopolitical developments closely, as uncertainty surrounding the Middle East conflict and energy markets remains a major concern for global financial stability.
