Pentagon Buys 10,000 Missiles After Iran War Stockpile Drop

Date:

Washington, United States – Web Desk: The Pentagon has signed agreements to purchase 10,000 low-cost missiles following reports that the recent conflict involving Iran significantly reduced American missile stockpiles.

According to international media reports, the move comes as the United States seeks to rapidly rebuild its defense inventory and strengthen military preparedness for potential future conflicts.

The Pentagon confirmed that contracts were signed with several defense companies under the Low-Cost Containerized Missiles Program, aimed at developing affordable and quickly deployable missile systems.

US defense officials said the first phase of the program will begin in June, when trial missiles will be delivered for testing and operational evaluation.

In a separate agreement, the Pentagon also partnered with Castelian to procure at least 500 Blackbeard hypersonic missiles annually as part of efforts to modernize America’s strategic weapons capabilities.

Defense analysts say Washington is increasingly focusing on cost-effective and rapidly produced missile systems to maintain military readiness during prolonged conflicts and rising geopolitical tensions.

Last month, reports suggested that the United States could take up to four years to fully restore missile stockpiles to pre-war levels after heavy usage during regional military operations linked to tensions with Iran.

The development highlights growing concerns within US defense circles over ammunition reserves, military logistics, and long-term readiness amid instability in the Middle East.
